Exakta RTL 1000 - (1969)

This is an Exakta RTL 1000, a 35mm SLR camera made by Ihagee Kamerawerke AG in Dresden, East Germany between the years 1969 to 1973.  Despite the name, this camera bears very little resemblance to earlier Exaktas, in fact, it was built alongside the Praktica L-series made by VEB Pentacon.  The RTL 1000 shares the original Exakta mount but nothing else.  By the time this model was released, the Exakta name had fallen out of favor with professional photographers, and as a result, the model sold poorly.
